Public IP Addresses


Applications that require public IP addresses are (this is not intended to be the complete list):

Virtual Private Networks
A maximum of 2 Public IP addresses per site can be allocated for use with VPNs.

Mail servers located at remote sites
A maximum of 2 Public IP addresses per site can be allocated for use with mail servers.

DNS servers at remote sites
Two public IP addresses can be allocated for DNS servers. Usually the mail server and DNS server is the same machine so the same 2 IP addresses can be shared.

Netmeeting like applications
A maximum of 2 Public IP addresses per site can be allocated for use with Netmeeting.

Web servers at remote sites
As this is an application that reverses the asymmetric model upon which the DirecWay service is based they are not allowed on the system.

FTP servers at remote sites
As this is an application that reverses the asymmetric model upon which the DirecWay service is based they are not allowed on the system.
